My husband and I will be landing at the new Playa Blanca airport and staying for 1 week. But we do not want to stay in the big beach resorts at Playa Blanca. We would like to discover small villages, small family-owned hôtels or cabins, and discover the rainforest and maybe climb a volcano, and snorkeling in the ocean.

Can someone give us advice on what to do once we land at the Playa Blanca Airport? I think Boquete and Chiriqui are too far for our short time in Panama. Plus we would like to avoid the Canal. Any advice would be welcome! Thank you so much.
